♫ On the Seventh Day of Giving,
The kids helped me,
At A Precious Child charity. ♫
One of the most difficult things to do in looking for ways to help is to find an organization that allows children to also help. Most of them have restriction, including age limits.
To find a place the kids could help out, I contacted the United Way who sent me a short list of volunteer opportunities. One of those was A Precious Child. A Precious Child is a charitable organization that accepts donations for families in need. Those families can come in and can pick through clothes, shoes, and toys that they need and can take them without cost.
We were given the task to organize shoes! Look at those excited faces!
The kids helped by organizing them by size, pulling the summer shoes, and finding singles with no matches. They were a great help and perfect job for young kids to do and very useful for practical organizational skills!
We did a two hour shift which was just enough time for them to be involved, but just the right amount of time to wear out.
