The Twelve Days of Giving Back This Christmas:    Day 9

Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 Day 8 Day 9 Day 10 Day 11 Day 12

♫ On the Ninth Day of Giving,
The kids helped me,
Make tie blankets,
For kids suffering from maladies. ♫

Last year our church made tie blankets for kids in children’s hospital and this year our family decided to do it again. They’re very easy to make and even kids as young as four or five can get involved.

If  you’ve never made one before, there are just a few simple steps.

Pick two different colors/styles of fleece for your blanket from the store. (We purchased 1.5 yards of each material.) Lay them on top of each other and trim them so they line up and are square.

Cut 3″-4″ slits around all edges of the fabric, about 1″ apart. (Cut off the corners.)

Tie the two pieces of blanket strips together in a double knot.

That’s it!
