Nature Adventure

We are going to start on the journey of Kindgergarten in a few weeks, but until then we’re going to squeeze as much fun as we can out of what is left of this warm Colorado weather.

We took a trip out to the Thorne Nature Experience in Boulder, watching for birds and used nets to catch bugs in the marsh.

Just as we got out there, thick storm clouds began to cover the area which was really nice, because J was starting to melt.

We sat inside the bird lookout, being quiet and watching for animals. We saw a bunch of fire ants, dragon flies, bees, and a few birds.

J thought he saw a bug on one of the plants and decided to check it out.

The sunflowers are in full bloom this time of year.

The kids saw a few bugs in the marsh and tried to catch them, but they were moving pretty fast.

J did catch this little pink bug. I’m not sure what it is though!

We took a few specimens inside for viewing under the microscopes.
